Why is my room lamp a pineapple?

The pineapple traveled a great distance to be enjoyed in the Americas and it was often hard to find. As a result pineapples were stored by hosts on ice and retrieved only for the most celebrated occasions and guests. Prior to a meal, the pineapple would often be displayed to build anticipation for the feast to come.

Because of this, the pineapple has grown over time to represent hospitality and friendship. We display the pineapple in each guestroom as a reminder that the best of what we have to offer is always available to you. Welcome friends.
